The value of what our clients can tell us about their business

We take the time to find out about our clients and their company.  One of the reasons is that they know their business and their clients better than anyone and this information is invaluable in guiding the development of their website and online marketing strategy.

Here are a few things that we try to understand from our clients when we start a project for them.

The purpose of the business?

Tell us about your mission, vision, core values.  Share information about the history of your company and what makes you different from your competitors.  The more we know the more equiped we will be to build a website that serves the business.

Your products and services

We need to know what generates revenue for your business.  What are your top sellers? Which products / services would you like to sell more of?

Who are your clients?

Can you categorise your clients for us? Are they mainly men or women or both? Any demographic information about your clients will be helpful.  Where or how do you find clients at the moment.

Your company culture

Current brochures, business cards, and marketing material that we can refer to will be helpful.  How do you communicate with your customers.  What is the tone of the communication.

What aspects of your current website can be improved.

 If you have an existing website you have probably thought about what you would like to change. 

What are your expectations for your new website

 Is it important for the new website to be more sales orientated with a strong call to action? Perhaps your website needs better content or a professional design.

What will make this project a success or failure

Determine what is the purpose of the website: brand awareness, enhance your credibility online, sell products online, generate leads for your business. Consider and list the factors that will make the website effective in terms of its purpose.  By the same token list the factors that could make it a failure.

Plans to maintain your website

Should you have plans to keep the content on the website fresh and up-to-date let us know so that we can make this as possible when we build your website.

Plans to market your website

It is highly recommended that you have a plan to get traffic to your website.  Have you considered advertising online with Google Adwords, or improving your website's perforamance in the search engine results pages by doing Search Engine Optimisation. Gone are the days where if you published a website the traffic would come.  Competition is stiff and with more content available everyday on the internet you need to actively market your website to make it worth your while....
